Indian culottes

20170314_151123[1]

My sister brought me back these beautiful fabrics when she was in India last year. I’ve cut out another pair of short wide pants, or culottes as I’ve learned they’re called. here I was, thinking I’d come up with the idea of them on my own.

The fabric is really thin, so I’ll have to make at least the upper half lined, I think. And maybe a matching blouse in the gold colored fabric?

Well my hat wasn’t finished on march 8 and I doubt it will be before the winter is over, but maybe in time for next year?20170314_134819[1]

Zipping up Tokyo

20170314_133956[1]I finally found this fabric store on my last night in Tokyo and by then my suitcase was kind of difficullt to close from all my shopping, but at least I got me these really neat zippers to put somewhere visible.

Drops floating colors

My niece gave me this Drops yarn for Christmas, the color floats through purple, blue and turquoise, some of my favorite colors! Since I had practised knitting socks all december I decided it was time to make a pair for myself as well, I love how they turned out!20170314_124025[1]

Bowie pants

I was going to Tokyo to visit my son and felt I needed to dress well. I had the idea for some short wide pants and found this really great blue green linen to make them from. I used a vintage pattern Stil 6166, but made the legs straight instead of bell bottomed and of course shortened them. I also made the waist dubble width and put on two buttons to hold them up, I’m really plesed with how they look and they go so well together with my Bowie boots!

Pantsy schmantsy

I cut out these pants a long time ago and finally sat down to sew them together, I I really needed some new ones. The patterns looks smashing although I’m not all crazy about the late seventies fashion. Not sure they look like the picture, maybe should take them in some more, but…well

Mittens

I’m really a fan of these reflective thread yarns from Järbo. I’ve been doing a lot of knitting lately so decided to go back to crochet for a while. This, I hope, will be a pair of mittens. The first one is always fun to figure out, but then I have to make a second one like it and remember how I did it. At the moment I’m confident, though.
